Privacy Policy

Information stored only on your device

Everything you create in the App is saved only in the App's storage on your device:

• Your ratings, reviews, notes, scores, and restroom lists
• Your profile name, bio, and home city, badges, XP, level, streaks, and streak freezes
• Details from friends' Throne Passport or challenge links that you open in the App (for example, a friend's display name and level)
• Your settings, such as language, Emergency Mode, and reminder preferences
• Recently loaded nearby places, kept for up to 30 days so results appear faster, and a copy of your last nearby results that Emergency Mode+ (Urgency Kit) can show when you have no signal

We do not receive, store, or have access to this information. It is not visible to other people: the App has no public reviews, public profiles, followers, or feeds, and it does not sync between devices. The App does not take, upload, or store photos, and it does not access your camera, photo library, microphone, or contacts.

Location, search, and maps

If you allow location access, the App uses your device's location while the App is in use to find restrooms near you. Your location coordinates, and any search text you type into the App (such as a business name, address, or city), are sent to Google's Places API, a Google service, which returns nearby places and their details, such as name, address, location, whether the place is open now, its Google rating, and wheelchair-accessible-entrance information. The App does not access your location in the background, and no Throne Score server stores your location or your searches.

The in-app map is displayed with Apple Maps, and the App sends your coordinates to Apple's geocoding service to look up your city or neighborhood name. When you tap Directions, the App opens Apple Maps (or, from Emergency Mode, Google Maps if Apple Maps can't open) with the destination, and your use of those apps is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy. You can turn off location access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Throne Score; nearby results will then be limited.

Urgency Kit and Restroom Access Card

The Urgency Kit adds the Restroom Access Card, Emergency Mode+ (which can fall back to a saved copy of your last nearby results), Accessibility first, and Urgent start. None of these features ask for or collect health information.

The Restroom Access Card shows a fixed, pre-written message on your screen. It does not ask about any condition or diagnosis, and the App does not save the card's content, or any choice you make on it (such as a U.S. state), to a profile or send it to us or anyone else. The saved copy of nearby results is stored only on your device. Apple and RevenueCat record an Urgency Kit purchase like any other in-app purchase; that record contains no health information and does not tell us that you have any medical condition.

Analytics and diagnostics

When enabled, the App sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service — for example, which screens are opened, which features and buttons are used, search terms entered in the App's search, the places and city you view in the App, paywall, purchase, and ad events, whether you have Throne Score Plus, and your in-app level. If the App hits an error, it sends a diagnostic report with the error type and a shortened message from which email addresses, file paths, and long numbers are removed. These events are linked only to a random ID created for this installation of the App — never to your name, email address, or advertising identifier — and they never include your GPS coordinates. Deleting the App, or using Delete All Data, resets this ID. We use this information to understand which features are used and to find and fix errors.

Things you share

When you share a place, a list, a review card, a badge, or your Throne Passport, or challenge a friend, the App creates a message (sometimes with an image of a card) that you send with the iOS share sheet to people you choose. List shares contain the list's name and how many places it has, plus a link to thronescore.app. The link does not contain the list itself; lists stay on the phone that made them.

Links shared from Throne Score versions before 1.4.2 put the details after the "?" in the address. When someone opens one of these links in a web browser, thronescore.app and its hosting provider receive the link as part of the page request. The website uses those details only to show them on the page and to pass them to the Throne Score app on that person's device. The page removes them from the address before our website analytics load, so analytics never record them, and we do not store them ourselves. Our hosting provider's standard request logs may include the full link.

Links made with Throne Score 1.4.2 and later put the details after the "#" in the address. Browsers never send that part to any server. This is true of all the links below. The /guess, /vs and /squad pages read the details only in the visitor's browser, don't store them, and load no analytics.

• Throne Passport links (thronescore.app/get#p=… or thronescore.app/vs#p=…) contain your display name, level, number of ratings, average score, crown and persona, your average for each rating category, how many cities you have rated in, up to 10 of your best- and worst-rated places (name, city and score), and a random identifier the App creates only for your Passport.
• Challenge links (thronescore.app/get#c=…) contain your display name, level and persona, the place name and city, and the score you challenge your friend to beat.
• Guess My Throne links (thronescore.app/guess#d=…) contain your display name, level and persona, and the places you picked for the quiz: each place's name, city, type and your score.
• Squad Score links (thronescore.app/squad#d=…) contain one place's name, city and type, and each squad member's display name and score. Anyone who opens the link can add a rating, which creates a new link in their browser.

Service providers

We share information only with the service providers named in this policy, and only as needed for the features they provide:

• Google Places API — nearby search, search results, and place details
• Google AdMob — ads in the free version
• Apple — App Store purchases, the in-app map, and looking up city or neighborhood names (geocoding)
• RevenueCat — purchase status and restoring purchases
• TelemetryDeck — anonymous usage analytics and error diagnostics
• Google Maps — directions from Emergency Mode, only if Apple Maps can't open
• Manus, Cloudflare, and Umami (manus-analytics.com) — hosting, security, and visit counts for this website

We use providers whose terms require them to protect the information they receive and to use it only to provide their services, and each provides the same or equal protection of your information as described in this policy. Each also has its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information we hold if required by law or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or those of others, and information we hold may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Because your ratings, reviews, lists, and profile stay on your device, we have no copy of them to share. We do not sell your personal information.

European privacy rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the controller of the limited information described in this policy is GW Labs, which operates Throne Score (contact: privacy@thronescore.app). We rely on these legal bases:

• Contract: to provide the features you use, such as nearby search, purchases, and restoring purchases
• Consent: for location access, personalized ads, and the Android launch email, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings or by emailing us
• Legitimate interests: for anonymous analytics and error diagnostics that keep the App working, for non-personalized ads that fund the free version, and for website security and visit counts
• Legal obligation: where the law requires us to process or keep information

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal information, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. Because your App content is stored on your device, you can view, export, and erase it yourself at any time. For information held by our service providers, email privacy@thronescore.app and we will help. Our service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States; where required, these transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

Information stored in the App is protected by your device's security, such as your passcode and iOS data protection. Information the App and this website send to service providers travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep any backup file you export in a safe place.
